Lack of sleep sure brings problems for your health. But how about the oversleeping issue? Many people are aware of the harm of lack of sleep. But very few of us do realize that oversleeping can actually give bad effects to our health. we can’t go on being ignorant about this. Sleeping is one of the most important concerns in human health. Everybody needs it, just like we crave foods and water, we need sleep to live.


The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suggest that the ideal length for sleeping is around seven to nine hours per night. Lack of sleep or also known as insomnia can cause health problem including drowsiness in the daytime and more harmful effects on your blood pressure and mental health, a study shows that people with lack of sleep tend to prone of depression. Now, just as insomnia, hypersomnia or oversleeping habit can also cause harm to your body health.


According to experts in this field hypersomnia can cause several problems like plagued by anxiety, low energy, and also memory problems as an effect of their fatigue. When it has become a habit, oversleeping can even cause more dangerous problems like Coronary Heart Disease, Diabetes, Obesity, and even death. It’s really not just a nonsense threat. Many studies have shown an association between oversleeping and higher death rates. In 2002, for example, scientists from the American Cancer Society conducted a study to date on sleep patterns and mortality and found that people who slept longer each night were 12 percent more likely to die over the course of the study than their counterparts who slept for seven hours were.


Then, what can we do to maintain ideal hours of sleep? Here are some simple tips for helping you build up healthy lifestyle concerning your sleeping habit.
• Regularity. Try to set your time of sleeping. Sleep and wake up at roughly the same time every day, including on holidays—when people usually get lazy and wake up late at around noon. You may also need to set a regular schedule for light exercise. This will definitely improve your healthy lifestyle.
• Avoid caffeine and alcohol. These two beverages are the culprits responsible for your sleeping problem. Thus, avoiding them is the best way. Well, if it seems hard to avoid drinking caffeine and alcohol completely, try to limit the consumption especially later in the day.
